Even in Western Countries, although we like to think otherwise, women are still slightly behind their male colleagues. Whether it is about equal payments, equal distribution of men and women in management positions or due to the persistent traditional values of men bringing home the bacon and women staying at home. Even at these emancipated times, in every country, religion and business, the relationship between men and women has a fragile balance.
Another assumption contributing to this fragile balance, is the one about girls having no talent or brain for exact science and math. The New York- based project ‘Girls Who Code’ aims to overthrow these kind of assumptions and close the gender-gap in the Techworld. Girls Who Code is a new organization working to educate, inspire and equip 13- to 17-year-old girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in technology and engineering.
The project is still in its early phase, but it is for sure an unstoppable movement. So sign up at www.girlswhocode.com, stay tuned and maybe you will become one of these new female techs!
