Mirjam van der Hoek is a Dutch photo journalist. One day she was hit by the appearance of an advertisement selling ‘Vagina Corrections’. “There must be something wrong then with my vagina”, she thought. Instantly followed by: “No way, this is madness!”

Although there can be grounded medical and/or psychological reasons to consider (plastic) surgery in the pubis area, Mirjam tried to boost the female confidence by making a photo coverage of ‘Pussy’s in all their manifestations’. This resulted in the – with several awards rewarded –photo exhibition of ‘The Perfect Pussy Parade’ (Rotterdam – The Netherlands).
